The challenge: convey key messages about pollinators and inspire users to create a pollinator-friendly garden. This interactive gadget has been popular with educators and gardeners; 44,000 copies have been distributed.

The New Science of Metagenomics Poster
This poster, developed in collaboration with Nature Publishing Group and co-authored with Jo Handelsman of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, explores the processes and promises of a new approach to studying microorganisms. Sixteen thousand copies were distributed as inserts in two of Nature's journals, Nature Biotechnology and Nature Reviews Microbiology.- Download poster (PDF: 3.7 MB)
Website: Earth Observations from Space
I led the development of this website and its companion CD based on a National Research Council report. It highlights some of the scientific achievements made possible by satellite observations of Earth.
